DAY 1: UK - Amsterdam.
Fly to Amsterdam where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the Amsterdam area for an overnight stay. The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to explore the sights of this beautiful city at leisure. There is a shuttle bus every 20-30 minutes. From here, you can take a train that runs every 8 minutes into the city centre.
DAY 2: Amsterdam - Cologne.
Our journey takes us through the rural Dutch countryside and across the border into Germany to the city and port of Cologne, on the left bank of the mighty Rhine River. Arriving in time for dinner, you will spend your first night on board the Prinses Christina, giving you time to get to know your fellow passengers and check out the ship's facilities. (B, D)
DAY 3: Cologne - Koblenz.
You'll set sail in the early morning, cruising southwards to the historic city of Koblenz, arriving in the early afternoon. Located on the convergence of three rivers and three mountain ranges, the city dates back to Roman times and is a centre of the German wine trade. A programme of optional excursions is available during your stay at most ports of call. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: Koblenz - Cochem. Included wine tasting.
Cruising along the Moselle River westwards, you'll arrive in the picturesque town of Cochem, spectacularly set at the heart of the wine-growing area known as the Moselle Valley and overlooked by an 11th-century castle. There's plenty of time to take in the sights. Today there is an included wine tasting trip. (B, L, D)
DAY 5: Cochem - Boppard.
Enjoy breakfast on board your cruise ship as you sail back to the Rhine for an early afternoon arrival in Boppard, enjoying some of the region's legendary sights along the way. The afternoon is yours to explore this ancient and charming town, set in the beautiful Lorelei Valley, with the Hunsruck Mountains as a spectacular backdrop. (B, L, D)
DAY 6: Boppard - Rüdesheim.
This morning you'll cruise to Rüdesheim, past some of the Rhine Valley's most famous landmarks, including the 130 metre high Lorelei rock, and the Mäuseturm, an ancient customs post, now a beacon tower for shipping. The afternoon is yours to explore Rüdesheim, overlooked by the great ivy-crowned towers of ruined Ehrenfels castle. (B, L, D)
DAY 7: Rüdesheim - Andernach.
Cruise northwards through glorious scenery to Andernach, a walled town known for its impressive 13th-century 'Liebfrauen' Church and the famous 'Rhine Boulevard'. In the afternoon there's an opportunity to join our optional excursion to the Ahrtal wine-making region. (B, L, D)
DAY 8: Andernach - Cologne.
Sailing further north, you'll pass Remagen, famous as the site of a World War II battle for the town's bridge, en route to Königswinter, an elegant resort at the foot of the Sieben Gebirge mountains. After lunch, you'll cruise past the ancient city of Bonn, birthplace of Beethoven, to Cologne for an overnight stay. You'll have time to explore this lively, historic city, famed for its magnificent Gothic cathedral. (B, L, D)
DAY 9: Cologne - Amsterdam.
This morning disembark after breakfast for the return coach journey to the Amsterdam area for your final overnight stay. (B)
DAY 10: Amsterdam - UK.
For flights departing in the afternoon or evening, an optional sightseeing trip of Amsterdam will be available. Transfer to Amsterdam airport in the afternoon or early evening for your flight to the UK. (B)
